IRENA Launches Online Renewable Energy Learning Partnership
24 April 2012: The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has launched the IRENA Renewable Energy Learning Partnership (IRELP), a renewable energy education and training platform aimed at meeting the global demand for skilled, knowledgeable renewable energy personnel, particularly in the developing world.
In response to an "unsatisfied demand for education and training in renewable energy technologies," the IRELP web platform is designed to be used by learners worldwide– including students, vocational trainees and professionals interested in expanding their renewable energy knowledge, educators and trainers, as well as government actors and decision makers. The site contains a library with a detailed search function, a section on recent and upcoming webinars, and an "academy" section which offers tutorials and lectures. Finally, under the education and training heading, the webpage offers a list of current courses as well as training opportunities available globally on all aspects of renewables technologies, business and politics.
