IEA Bulletin Highlights Future of Transport Technology, Barriers to Wind Energy Acceptance
July 2012: The International Energy Agency (IEA) has released the July 2012 issue of OPEN Energy Technology Bulletin, highlighting newly released documents, projects, participants, and upcoming events.
This issue of the Bulletin features articles on: the future of transport technology; barriers to the acceptance of wind energy, particularly social acceptance of renewable energies by local communities; the design and implementation of energy efficiency obligation (EEO) schemes and the Task 22 report of the Demand-Side Management Implementing Agreement on EEO; the IEA's Medium-Term Renewable Energy Market Report 2012; and the IEA's “Golden Rules” for exploiting unconventional natural gas resources.
According to the Bulletin, new participants in IEA programmes include Slovenia's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the University of Ljubljana, and China's Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The Bulletin also provides information on other IEA publications and press releases, including on: solar heat worldwide; best practices for renewable energy; national survey reports from the Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme; and the winner of the IEA Hydrogen Implementing Agreement (HIA) Project Award.
